So the very first step is that you will log into the platform as an instructor. Once you login, you will have to go to the top left menu option, and you will find the list of Live Classes under the ‘Live Classes’ tab.

You see that this ‘Class’ is meant for the current date and time. Let's go ahead and launch the session now. The moment you launch the session, this is the landing page for you as an instructor. You will see that your video is on, and there is a live ‘Text Chat’ facility just below the video (with a private and a class chat option). On the right-hand side of the screen, you will find the Live class’s ‘Workspace Area’.

In case you want to change your device settings then you should click on the ‘Device Selection’ option, and you could choose your camera device as well as the desired microphone device from here. Choose the settings and refresh the page once, so that the changes may be applied within the classroom. Now, let's get started with the ‘Workspace Area’.

You will see that there is a drop-down option, from where instructors may upload various ‘activities’ into my workspace.

The first option you will see is ‘YouTube’. Now in case you want to play any video from YouTube, within the classroom, this is the feature that you should use. So let me paste a YouTube URL here, and you will see that the YouTube video will get played in the classroom.

Similarly, if I go to the second option which is the ‘Whiteboard’, I have the option to start writing on top of it (in the blank space).

There are many tools on the left-hand panel which could be utilised. The first tool is ‘Colors’. Here I may choose pens of different colors. I could also choose the type of tool that I want- a pen, brush or a highlighter. With these, I shall draw anything on my whiteboard.

The third option is ‘Shapes’. Using this option, you will be able to draw various kinds of shapes into the classroom. So you could select emoticons, block arrows, grids, solid shapes, flowchart, chemistry related shapes, electrical as well as maps.

The fourth option is ‘Transform’, using which instructors will be able to move around an object/shape within the whiteboard. In case you want to rotate it, or you want to resize the object, transform tool will be useful.

The fifth option is the ‘Hand Tool’ using which instructors will be able to drag my page up and down.

The sixth option is the ‘Eraser’. this is used if instructors want to delete any shape from my whiteboard area.

There is also a seventh option called the ‘Text’, for users to write anything using the keyboard.

An eighth option is the ‘Camera’ which is meant for uploading any image into the Whiteboard. Once the image gets uploaded, users could resize the image. Also, users have an option to write on top of the image.

The ninth option is ‘Undo’. You may use this to undo the last few actions performed on the whiteboard.

The last option is the ‘Redo’ (Here you may redo the previous action on the whiteboard).

Under the ‘New’ menu on the whiteboard, the third option here is ‘Content’. In case you want to use any content as an instructor, you have to go to the ‘Content Library’ to choose the file you want to play in the classroom. This particular file will get played inside the class and will be visible to all the participants who have joined your live lecture. While I am using my presentation, I also have an option to highlight specific areas of my presentation ( using a pen/highlighter) and I could start explaining about the presentation slide.

The next feature here is the ‘Media Player’. Using this feature, you could have your private video content uploaded to the content library, and it may be played within the live classroom.

After the media player option, you have the ‘Code Editor’. Now, let’s assume that your organization provides training on software programming languages. So, in that case, you could use this code editor to teach any programming language. Right now, WizIQ supports JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

This is a collaborative editor, which means that you have an option of giving the writing access to participants where they will also be able to write a code in this particular area- which we are calling as the code editor.

In the workspace editor, the next option is the ‘Save to PDF’- in case you want to save your whiteboard work or you want to save your annotations (which we did on the top of a presentation), then you may choose those particular tabs and click on ‘Confirm.’

Once you click on ‘Confirm’, then you will see that your whiteboard work or your presentation annotations will get converted into the form of PDF file. This file could be used later on, by a student or by yourself to refer to any points you discussed in the live classroom. At the top, you will see that there is a recording button which is blinking right now, which means we are recording this lecture. There is a ‘microphone’ and a webcam option – using the microphone option, instructors will be able to mute or unmute my microphone. Alternatively, you may even switch off and switch on the live video (using the webcam option) within the live classroom.

This is a ‘Timer’ option using which everyone could keep track of the session time. If the instructor wants to extend the lecture, they have a choice of doing the same. Once they are done with the lecture, they must click on ‘End the Session’, and this will bring my live lecture to an end.

This is the polling option called the ‘Recent Polls’. Using this, instructors could create a poll. Once they have created a poll, they will have to click on ‘Publish’, and immediately each one of the participants will receive a poll, wherein they will have to choose one of the options and submit it back to the instructor. Once they submit, you will see the results either in the pie chart or in the ‘List’ (from where you may choose the format, in which you want to see the result).

Next option in the workspace is the ‘Layout Change’. The present layout which we see in this particular screen (workspace), is what we are calling as the ‘Classic Layout’.

However, we also have an option where and you could completely transform this layout and change it to a ‘Full-Screen Workspace’. It does not matter, whether you are using a whiteboard presentation or a video. Each one of your components which you have been using within the workspace area will now be played in a full-screen mode.

We have a third layout, which we call as the ‘Full-Screen Video layout’ in case you want to address your audience using the video conferencing, then this is a layout which you have to choose.

This is the fourth layout which we call as the ‘Conference layout’. Here, you could put multiple people on the video tiles, and you may have a live audio-video communication with them. When we click on the same option, it will take us back to the ‘Classic layout’.

The next option is ‘Screen Share’. if instructors click on ‘Screen Share’, they will be prompted with the choice of sharing the ‘entire screen’ or sharing a ‘particular application window’. Once they have chosen the kind of screenshare they want to do (sharing a specific area, or the entire screen), they will click on ‘Share’, and it will start broadcasting the entire screen. Once you are done sharing, you must click on ‘Stop Screen Share’, and you will be back to your online session.

Next is the ‘People List’, where you will see the list of all the participants. Whenever a student gets listed, then corresponding to every student you will find four different controls. These controls are for the instructor. The first control option is of the ‘Webcam’, second is for the ‘Microphone’ third is for ‘Writing’, and the last one is for ‘Removing’ somebody from the live classroom.

Moreover, the last icon which you will see here is the notification icon, and whenever any particular student raises his hand for asking a question, then you will be able to track all notifications out here.

We have already spoken about the live chat- that there are two kinds of conversations which may happen here. One is the ‘Class Conversation’, and the other one is the ‘Private Messages’ - in case a student wants to communicate in private. To do this, the student must pick up the name of the teacher from here and send a private message to the online instructor.

Once the instructor is done with the lecture, then you may go back to the timer and finally click on ‘end the session’ to close the class.
